Subsidies in Pilsen

Subsidies for air conditioning in Pilsen: what applies in 2026

The conditions have changed for 2026 — direct grants for standard households have been replaced by an interest-free loan, and direct support remains only for vulnerable households. This page holds the current figures.

If you have previously read that you can receive 40,000 Kč for air conditioning, you should be aware that this was a condition of an earlier period of the programme. From 2026, the system is different: vulnerable households will receive a direct grant, while others will have access to an interest-free loan where the state pays the interest.

Both routes share the common feature that heating is supported. Air conditioning is listed in the application as an air-to-air heat pump and must be used for heating; purely cooling installations are not covered by the programme.

When a subsidy applies to air conditioning, and when it does not

There is no subsidy for air conditioning intended solely for cooling. Subsidies are available for air-to-air heat pumps, that is, air conditioning units with a heating function used for space heating.

The installation must be carried out by a company authorised to handle regulated substances (F-gas) in accordance with Act No. 73/2012 Coll.; otherwise, the subsidy will not be granted even if all other conditions are met.

The Plzeň Region does not have its own programme.

The regional subsidy scheme for eco-friendly heating for low-income citizens, previously offered by the Plzeň Region, is now closed – applications ceased in August 2024. Currently, only nationwide programmes are available; there are no Plzeň-specific schemes that we could offer you as an additional benefit.

In practice, this most commonly concerns detached houses in Doubravka, Lochotín or Křimice, where electric direct heating is used. There, air conditioning with a heating function reduces the electricity bill, and if the income condition is met, support can be claimed for it.

What we supply for your application

  • proof of authorisation to handle regulated substances (F-gas certification)
  • technical parameters of the installed unit, including its heating factor
  • documentation of the installation and commissioning

The decision to award the subsidy is made solely by the programme provider. We do not guarantee its receipt; we assist with technical documentation and proof of installation.

Frequently asked questions about subsidies

I read about a subsidy of 40 000 Kč for air conditioning. Is it still valid?

No. This amount originates from the older settings of the Nová zelená úsporám (New Green Savings) programme. From 2026, the NZÚ Light sub-programme offers a direct grant for vulnerable households (up to 100 000 Kč for an air-to-air heat pump) and an interest-free loan for other households.

Does the Plzeň Region offer its own subsidy for heat pumps?

No, not by August 2026. The subsidy scheme for low-income citizens in the region was closed in 2024 and no new one has been announced. We will update this page as soon as the situation changes.

Can I get a subsidy for an air conditioner that only cools?

No. There is no subsidy for air conditioning intended solely for cooling. Subsidies are available for air-to-air heat pumps, that is, air conditioning units with a heating function used for space heating. If you are buying a unit purely for summer cooling, it falls outside the subsidy programmes.

Does the installation have to be done by an F-gas certified company?

The installation must be carried out by a company authorised to handle regulated substances (F-gas) in accordance with Act No. 73/2012 Coll.; otherwise, the subsidy will not be granted even if all other conditions are met.

Do you guarantee that I will get the subsidy?

The decision to award the subsidy is made solely by the programme provider. We do not guarantee its receipt; we assist with technical documentation and proof of installation.

We last verified the figures on this page on 6 August 2026 against the official sources (NZÚ Light, NZÚ úvěr). Subsidy conditions change during the year — if you spot a discrepancy, let us know and we will correct it.

We will advise whether you are eligible for the subsidy.

Tell us what type of building you live in and how you heat it. We will get back to you with the installation price and which subsidy programme applies to your situation – or if none do.
